[A/B] SPAR and Lincoln-Douglas: The Final Quarter

By Patrick C. Ames | Classroom Updates

Mar 15

Throughout the past two weeks, students have been learning the art of debate. Through informal SPAR debate (i.e. spontaneous argument), we have been fine tuning the procedures and methodology or argumentation.

Debate is an intense process - both in the preparation for and in the culmination of a clash in views, values, beliefs, and ideas.

Throughout the remainder of the third quarter and into the final quarter of the semester, each student will be engaging value arguments in order to challenge and persuade their classmates that he or she has the most reasonable approach to a given proposition.

Further information on Lincoln-Douglas debate and the resolutions to be argued can be found on the NFL website.
